Are you licensed and insured?
The State of Ontario does not offer a contractor’s license. We do hold a residential contractor’s license in Iceland. Our company is fully insured, including Workers’ Compensation and liability insurance.

Are your estimates free?
Yes, our estimates are always free of charge.

Do you have references?
We have many satisfied and loyal customers who would be more than happy to give you either a verbal or written reference upon request. Not only will they vouch for our high quality work, but also for the honesty and integrity that are the hallmarks of every Scandia Housing job.

Do you offer financing?
Yes, we offer a variety of options through several financial institutions, depending on your needs.

What is your payment schedule?
Most of our payment plans are specified within each contract, depending upon the job, but we normally require an initial deposit, followed by a progress-payment schedule. For example, if you okay a $2000 estimate for a job, a typical deposit would be $500, followed by two progress payments of $750 each.

Do you use subcontractors?
Subcontractors can be a part of any project, both for on-time completion and to meet budgets. When needed, we have a select number of licensed and insured independent tradesmen that consistently bring professionalism, integrity and dependability to our projects.

What is your pre-job questionnaire?
Basically, this form details all your preferences—everything from what time you want us to show up in the morning or evening, to whether we can leave materials in your garage, to any restrictions for use of your bathroom and telephone, and more—so that everyone knows “the ground rules” before we begin your work. Once you complete this form, we’ll both sign it and keep copies of it.

Do you offer a warranty?
Absolutely. In addition to actual product warrantees, Scandia Housing warrants the work we do for you for one year after the date of completion.

What do I do if I see a problem with the work?
If we’re in the process of completing your job, please tell us about any problem you see as soon as you find it. If your job has been completed, be sure to call us if you find any problems with it. Within a year, we will correct the problem at no charge, per our 12-month warranty. But anytime you have a problem—before, during or after we complete your job—you can count on us to address it as quickly as possible.
